10:00 am - 6:00 pm
With facilitator Fodhla McGrane, come join the Carmelite community for a weekend in Avila and spend some quality time looking at the friction we often experience with others in our lives (at work, at home, in the community, at church). We’ll discuss our typical reactions to conflict, and we’ll equip ourselves with effective alternatives for preventing conflict or for helping ourselves and others to get through it. Our sessions will be based on direction from the Bible about peacefully living together.
Our time together will include talks and discussions about the subjects above. We’ll share our experiences of conflict, and we’ll take a look at the conflict that occurred in ‘The Monastery’, the BBC TV programme.
The weekend will be structured around Avila’s prayer-times, to which all are invited. The weekend will also provide time and space for personal prayer and reflection. Reap the benefits of a gentle walk around the grounds. Receive support from the retreat leader through opportunities for one-to-one conversations and prayer.
Leave rested and equipped to bring peace back home with you and in you.
This retreat starts on the evening of Friday 28th August, continues all day Saturday and concludes after lunch on Sunday 30th August.
There is residential (preferred) and non-residential options for completing this retreat. The residential cost is €150, while the non residential cost is €120.
