Avila Carmelite Centre offers you the opportunity to reclaim tranquillity, peace and calm – to centre yourself again and revive your spiritual energy. Whether spending personal time in the presence of God or availing of one of our day retreats or being part of a course – Avila is here to punctuate the pressures of life with peace – helping you create, appreciate and celebrate a meaningful life.
Our Centre
Our Centre is a sanctuary and soothing oasis from our hectic world. Contemporary in design, our building is spacious and filled with beautiful light – the perfect balm for a tired soul.
All are welcome to visit the Chapel throughout the day or join the community for the Divine Office and Mass and can access the chapel.
Residential guests are welcome to visit the Chapel at any time, day and night.

Our Accommodation
Many of our guests and pilgrims wish to make the very most of their time with us and stay for a couple of days. To meet your needs, we have eight hotel-style guest rooms complete with ensuite bathroom and desk space.

We also offer two hermitages which are available for hire, providing self-contained, self-catering comfort within the grounds of Avila.

The centre has four fully equipped Conference rooms catering for groups of various sizes. There is also a large Dining room/ Canteen. As well as catering for our own ministery the facilities are available for hire to outside groups.
Our Location
Avila is conveniently located on Bloomfield Avenue, just off Morehampton Rd (N11) in Donnybrook, so is easily accessed by all. We are well-served by public transport with bus routes 39A (Blanchardstown to UCD), 46A (Phoenix Park to Dun Laoghaire) and 145 (Heuston Station to Kilmacanogue) and the Aircoach Service (Dublin Airport to Sandyford) within a five-minute walk. The Centre also has ample parking for private cars.
